Gowlings Attends World Energy Congress 2010
Gowlings is participating in this year's World Energy Congress (WEC), a five-day event, running September 12 – 16 in Montréal. Held every three years, WEC has become a key gathering point for the world's energy leaders. This year’s theme is Acting Now on Global Challenges, where discussion will focus on topics including alternative energy, wind energy and renewable energy sources.
WEC marks the first major gathering of energy leaders since the UN Summit on Climate Change and the G20/G8 earlier this year. Over 5,000 attendees and exhibitors are expected at this event, including Royal Dutch Shell, AMEC, OECD, GE Energy, Petrobras and Mitsui. Gowlings will be represented by David McFadden, Mark Ledwell, Terry McNally, John Hurley, Luc Lissoir, Patrick Burgess and Eugene Chen. Robert Armour, who recently joined Gowlings, will be attending from Gowlings’ London office. Robert is the former general counsel and corporate secretary for British Energy and brings with him an incredible breadth of experience in Europe’s energy sector.
